5th day of filming
Today shakira was filmed during her audition stage, this was the most important scene in our music video as everything had to be done right, during this we had to do a match on action which is very difficult, we also had to be weary of the studio lights as they were very hot and could cause some health and safety problem also shakira was dancing around the lights so we had to be careful so she doesn't trip over anything. Ralia was posing as our judge, we needed her to be focused on shakiras dancing so we took a shot of her from behind.

Audience research
Audience Research
unfortunately i was not in for the audience feedback but barbara has told me after speaking to her that the similar words people were saying was frustration, irritated and tired, which is exactly what effect we wanted the audience to feel, the artist that they compared the track to was taylor swift and jojo, they sing a lot of about breakups and heartbreaks which a lot of teenage girls can relate to, the audience stated that the film was cinematic, social and performance based. This also works well for us as group as we have planned our music video to include a number of characters and the story will be narrated clearly as we have decided to create a cinematic style music video so the audience can follow through well. the mood of the song was seen to be passive aggressive. It was really interesting to listen to the audience feedback.

Mood board
This is our mood board for the music video as it expresses the feelings and colours represented in the song, a lot of people could relate to our music video just by looking at the mood board, the colours represent the emotions that the artist is going through, feelings of anger, sadness, frustration, this song is about all this emotions and the journey that one goes to get through these emotions, the colours shown were dull grey, as our audience gave us feedback, the colours express sadness and the pain felt throughout the song.

TORI KELLY-BOTTLED UP LYRICS
Yeah
This is the story of a girl broken-hearted
Messed up her head she's so guarded
Don't get me started, woah
It's cause of you that I got this thick skin
I don't wanna let nobody in
All the pain just stayed in place and I kept it all in for so long
So long (2x)
(Chorus)
Oh, I just wanna yell
I just wanna throw it all at your face
Silly that I've always felt this way
You'd never know
I just wanna yell
You know that I can only take so much
I don't wanna keep it bottled up anymore
Anymore
Woah (3x) I don't wanna keep it bottled up
I was there hanging on by your string
Trying to give you my everything
Yeah, that's what they all say
Yeah, you don't know what you put me through
Trying so hard just to prove to you
That I got something to say but I kept it all tucked away for so long
So long (2x) Oh
(Repeat chorus)
Yeah I never talked about the way I really feel
You out my heart through hell
Thought you knew me so well
But, uh ah
Just waiting for me to fail
But I'm doing the opposite and I can't wait to tell the whole world
You're the one that said you'd eat me up
Remember when I told you that I wasn't good enough
And I started to believe that you felt like giving up
But you put the dream crush
And your crazy words stuck to me
I didn't ever want to feel like that again
So I locked up any kind of emotion
But I got the keys and I'm ready now
Set the cage bird free
Time to let it out
I just wanna yell
This way, yeah
You'd never know
I just wanna yell
You know that I can only take so much
I don't wanna keep it bottled up
Anymore, woah
You've been bottled up
I don't wanna keep it bottled up anymore
Yeah
I don't wanna keep it bottled up anymore
No more (2x)

EDITING DAY 1
Today we started off to edit the footage that we filmed today, by exporting the files onto premier pro to get started with editing of the music video.
We then started putting the music video together, slowly but taking our time to get
everything spot on, simply because we were lipscyncing..
Production meeting 3
This is our third production, we started to film shots of shakira, who is our dancer. we directed her through this process by telling her different ways in which she should be positioned. we told her to jog and stretch, this section was filmed in our school but we tried not to make it as obvious that we were filming in the school. After getting a few shots of shakira stretching, we decided to go on the main road and involve other people into the film to make it more realistic. to make this more effective, we thought it would make more sense it we did it in slow motion to make it more effective, we also did it in black and white to show the audience what the artist is feeling. we know this by her lyrics. The slow motion also shows the difficult times the dancer was going through.
we eventually decided that all the training scences should be tinted in black and white to create the sense of the past tense for the audience to understand that we intended to show what the dancer has been through and the journey from the 'Dark times' and the stages she went through to get to where she is.

jamie thraves most recent videos - japanese popstars- song for lisa

His tips are to use the lyrics but try not to be literal and more important to go with the emotions of the lyrics.

case study-Michael Jackson
Michael jackson
Michael Joseph Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, to a large African-American working-class family. His mother, katerine jackson, was a homemaker and a devout Jehovah's Witness. His father, joseph jackson had been a guitarist who put aside his musical aspirations to provide for his family as a crane operator. Believing his sons had talent, he molded them into a musical group in the early 1960s. He was called the king of pop is still called the king of pop. his contributions to music and dance along with his personal life made him a global icon for over four decades.
The eighth child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene along with his elder brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon as a member of the Jackson 5 in 1964, and began his solo career in 1971. In the early 1980s, Jackson became a dominant figure in popular music.Rock With You - 1979
This amazing unusual use of lighting and costuming is used to express his emotions of love and affection. His less-is-more approach is what makes this video so legendary as it's just him singing the song in a microphone with a mixture of long shots, mid shots and close ups.
Billie Jean - 1982
The following year, Jackson took less of a subtle approach with his signature moonwalks. This video told a story which amplified the meaning of the lyrics. With detectives following him, obviously looking for evidence to prosecute him, it seems as if this video mirrored what he was actually going through in his actual life- or at least he felt that way.
MICHAEL JACKSON
Budget: $500,000
Jackson didn't have to pay for the video because he made a deal with MTV and Showtime which covered the costs. Showtime got to air a one hour special with the 'making of' documentary and the 14-minute film before it was broadcasted anywhere else.
This music video is considered the most famous of all time, the Library of Congress added it to its National Film Registry in 2009. The video was a cultural milestone introducing:
- elaborate choreography
- costumes and dialogue
- the concept of the long-form music video, where a mini-movie was made for the song, then edited into a short version for the song
The video won the Best Performance Video award, alongside Best Choreography and Viewer's Choice at the first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984.
Its famous graveyard dance started the trend of group dance scenes in pop videos.
Overall, Michael Jackson used his videos to reinvent his image, tell stories and address serious issues.
